Dear Parish Family,
Thank you all for the warm welcome my family and I have received as we’ve come into this community. There is truly something special here at St. John’s and we’re blessed to be a part of it.
In meeting many of you, a common question I’ve found myself answering is “what exactly is your role?” I thought I’d take the space today to share a brief overview.
As Director of Mission Operations, my role is twofold. First, I am tasked with helping Fr. Kennell clarify the vision and mission of the parish and lead the staff in implementing this vision.
Who is St. John’s? What differentiates us from any other parish? In our unique identity, how are we called to form and serve our parishioners? The greater community? How will we do this?
Secondly, alongside leading the staff I hold oversight of HR and business operations. If we are going to achieve success in living into God’s vision for this parish it will require organizational health. To that end, my eyes are also on the systems, infrastructure, and resources we need in place to succeed.
I ask for your prayers as I continue to settle into this role. There is so much good already happening in this community and incredible potential for more. Pray for me, Fr. Kennell, and our staff as we work to be good stewards of this community.
Nick Labrie
Director of Mission Operations
