Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic fraternal organization in the world, with over two million members across multiple countries. But it starts local, in parish councils like ours.

The Knights were founded in 1882 by Fr. Michael McGivney, a young parish priest in New Haven, Connecticut. He saw Catholic men struggling to provide for their families, often excluded from the fraternal societies of the day. So he created one rooted in Catholic faith and mutual support. The principles haven't changed: charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.

At St. John the Evangelist, the Knights are the ones behind the fish fries, the fundraising, the volunteer muscle when something needs doing. They support seminarians, assist families in crisis, and show up when the parish needs hands. But it's not just about projects. It's about brotherhood: men sharpening each other, praying together, holding each other accountable in faith and life.
